Man attacked by lion in Amreli village

A 35-year-old man was attacked by a lion on the outskirts of Vaghaniya village in Kukavav taluka of Amreli district on Sunday. Victim Bhupat Vaishnav was a part of a group of villagers who had ventured out to see the lions that had been spotted on the outskirts of their village.
It was for the first time that lions were spotted in the area as there are no lions in Kukavav, Vadia and Babra talukas of Amreli district.
Vaishnav was suddenly attacked by a lion that was on the move close by. He was seriously injured in the attack and was rushed to civil hospital in Amreli where his condition is stated to be stable.
